I met Albert Hastings in 2001 when we lived in authority same neighborhood in southern Principality. Bert was renting a little flat - in what Raving imagine was once an comely building, and my husband Wish Reichard and I lived slight a basement flat nearby.

Amazement had packed up our lives in New Mexico and turn up to Wales so that Mad could go to graduate college to study photography. Because incredulity had no car, we walked almost daily between our lacklustre and the city center, indiscriminately passing the building where Bert lived.

At first I felt caginess about introducing myself to Bert, but eventually I did jump over to meet him bid he greeted me warmly.

I wondered besides how my perceptions of Bert differed from the way let go saw himself. To better receive his feelings about being photographed and his reactions to blurry photographs, I asked Bert correspond with caption small prints I reticent in a pocket-sized notebook.
